History

The idea of creating the foundation to support the veterans was born in 2010, when LTC David Khorguashvili (Ret) was assigned to escort wounded soldiers from Afghanistan to Landstuhl Medical Center in Germany. Active phase of war in Afghanistan was over, but the wounds soldiers and US Marines sustained during their deployments remained.

LTC David Khorguashvili (Ret) maintained close relationship with both Georgian and US Veterans and was visiting them frequently during their rehabilitation cycles in hospitals.

In 2017, David became a DoD contractor, working with Army and Marine units in different capacity. Him and group of his fellow Veterans and countrymen decided to come together to support US Veterans in need. The first funds were raised from the paychecks of the team.

With the support of David’s friends, Veterans Charitable Foundation (VCF) was officially established.

On May 20th, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas, VCF hosted its first fundraising meeting where the goals of the organization were presented, and mission statement was issued. Two honorary Veterans were presented, and the participants of the fundraiser raised funds to support them.
